Gene Coppola, Libraries Director of the Palm Harbor Library in Pinellas County, Florida, was a guest on Radioactivity, a public affairs and information program, hosted by Rob Lorei of community- supported WMNF 88.5 radio station in Tampa, Florida. They discussed the state of libraries today as well as Palm Harbor Library’s first annual fundraising initiative, RAISE THE ROOF, to raise the funds for a new roof and air conditioning units for the library that are estimated to cost between $340,000 – $400,000. To hear the interview in its entirety, please use this link: http://shar.es/VZvhw

The library is holding a cash raffle to raise the funds. The library will sell 1,000 tickets at $50 each. To make it even more affordable, you can have up to five people share a single ticket! In addition, if your ticket is selected for a prize, it will go back into the drawing for all other prizes — you could win more than once! This will raise $50,000 of which 62% is prize money.

You must be at least 18 years or age or older to enter and win. The drawings for the prizes will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at CSA Palm Harbor, “The Centre” located at 1500 16th Street in Palm Harbor. The doors open at 12 noon and drawings for prizes will be announced at 2:00 pm. Your raffle ticket will serve as your admission. You do not need to be present to win.

The prizes are:
1st Place- $10,000
2nd Place- 5,000
3rd Place- 2,500
Ten winners at $750 each
15 winners at $400 each

If you would like to buy a ticket, it’s easy! Simply fill out an application (available at the library or at www.palmharborlibrary.org), mail it in with your check payable to “Palm Harbor Library” and a ticket will be mailed to you. Come win cash and help Palm Harbor Library RAISE THE ROOF!
