The VIP Conference is a day-long training opportunity for paraprofessional staff to learn, interact, participate and network with colleagues. Festivities will begin in the second floor ballroom of the Marshall Student Center.
The day’s theme, THE SHIFT, emphasizes the need for re-evaluating services and tracking trends within libraries to keep up with changing needs of library patrons. Through forward-thinking presentations, attendees will gain knowledge and see examples of how libraries are shifting their focus to the future.
TBLC is thrilled to announce our keynote speaker: John Spencer is a former middle school teacher and current college professor on a quest to transform schools into bastions of creativity and wonder. He is the co-author of the bestselling Launch: Using Design Thinking to Boost Creativity and Bring Out the Maker in Every Student and the founder of two ed-tech start-ups. In 2009, he spoke at the White House, sharing a vision for how to empower students to be future-ready through creativity and design thinking. Here’s one of his creative vlogs.
Cost to attend is $35 per person which includes the day’s events, parking, and a buffet breakfast and lunch.
