Florida iHub is the convergence of all libraries in the Sunshine State. All libraries across the state of Florida joined forces by sharing all their digital collections and electronic resources. Florida iHUb provides accessing, lending and borrowing of all things digital in all the libraries in Florida. With the seamless integration of the library resources, one need not travel in order to get the materials they needed. EBooks, emagazines, streaming videos and music as well as online databases located anywhere in Florida can now be accessed wherever you are. FloridaiHub.com – we have everything you need and more, in one click.

2012 Florida Visioning Challenge Library Champion Runner-Up: Alice Graves, Remington College

Taking it to the Malls and the Executive Parks: Many people are too busy to visit their library. Many people don’t go to the library because they don’t know what the library has to offer. People in their 20s and 30s who do not have children are the least likely to visit public libraries. But we don’t have to wait for them to come to us. We can go to them by setting up mobile libraries where the people are. At the supermarket, at the mall, in a bar or an executive park where thousands of people work. All you need is a librarian, a laptop, and an internet connection. While you’re there, raffle off e-readers, demonstrate free downloadable music and e-books. At the bar, have an evening of karaoke songs about books (“Who Wrote the Book of Love?” “Just Like Romeo and Juliet” to name two from way-back). Anywhere a librarians hangs his/her hat is a library.
