Community outreach in your library helps build strong relationships for patrons and your local businesses. These library partnerships expand services to the citizens of the community giving each user a rich environment to thrive in.
I recently attended a Lunch and Learn event at the Hernando County Public Library System. The program was a collaboration effort with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). A member from the SBDC came to the main library and presented a condensed version of “Starting Your Own Business”. The room was filled for the event! The presenter even asked to come back and do a repeat seminar. This is terrific outreach for the community, not only are you helping patrons, but small business owners too.
We want to hear your stories. We have started a Community Outreach Special Interest Group (SIG) at TBLC. The SIG will allow members to share ideas on programs, services, and partnerships they have built in the community surrounding the library. Click here to sign up for the SIG.
