9:30 am – 12:30 pm
Embassy Suites Hotel Tampa/Brandon
The 2011 TBLC Annual Meeting will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, located at 10220 Palm River Road, Tampa 33619 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Our keynote speaker will be Peter Brantley, Director of the Bookserver Project at the Internet Archive. Peter’s topic will be “When the book is a web site: a new network of relationships.” As an active participant in the rapidly changing library / ebook environment, Peter is a terrific observer and commentator on what’s going on and what the future looks like.
The Annual Meeting also includes a business meeting where TBLC reports to the membership on its activities and brings forward issues for consideration. The business meeting agenda will include:
- Information about Expansion of the TBLC service area and new members
- Executive Director’s Report
- Treasurer’s Report
- Election of Officers and Directors
We also want to hear from the TBLC community and there are three kinds of stories we would like folks to share. In light of the challenging times, share with the group from these three areas:
- Appreciation - Say a kind word about someone who has done something that has made a difference in your work environment or for the customers you serve,
- Accomplishments - One way we learn to do things better is by watching others. What have you seen other libraries do that is worthy of praise?
- Success Stories - In times like these, we need to hear every success story we can!
In order to lower costs to attendees and to TBLC the 2011 Annual Meeting will include generous breakfast items and lunch will not be included.
Please make your check payable to TBLC and mail to TBLC at 1202 Tech Blvd., Ste 202, Tampa, FL 33619. Or, we will invoice your library after the event.
